HIS NAME WAS ANGELO
Hello Everyone,
I am sending out this message to ask you all to send energy to the family of Angelo Benavidez. Angelo was a beautiful, charming, happy child I had the privilege to have in my classroom this year. This past weekend there was a terrible six-car pile-up near Taos, New Mexico. Angelo and his grandpa were killed instantly. His grandma is in critical condition.
Angelo’s dad came in to school at St. Luke to tell us. We just held each other and cried. Angelo was his only child. Angelo’s dad and maternal grandpa asked to come see the classroom. His dad told me how much Angelo loved school and Mr. Jay. He loved the songs he learned, and he loved being a helper in the room.
Please send energy to the family of Angelo Benavidez. Say a prayer to the God/dess of your understanding. Light a candle. Do what feels right. Please also send energy to those of us at the school.
Tonight I am calling the families from my classroom to let them know what has happened. Tomorrow I am going to tell the other children. We have talked and decided that next week’s Christmas concert will be dedicated to Angelo.
Thank you all for being part of my family.
Love,
Jay

FROM GEORGIA KELLEY
(Lexophile: Lover of words)
I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.
Did you hear about the guy whose left side was cut off? He’s all right now.
A thief who stole a computer got twelve months.
If you take a laptop computer for a run, you could jog your memory.
A will is a dead giveaway.
Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.
You are stuck with your debt if you can’t budge it.
He broke into song because he couldn’t find the key.
A boiled egg is hard to beat.
When you’ve seen one shopping center, you’ve seen a mall.

Thought you might enjoy this picture of Willis Knight. He is the son of the late Melvin and Mary Knight. He grew these in our little garden. They weighed 7-1/2 pounds each.
